A woman who was the victim of a burglary describes how she felt, both physically and emotionally, about the crime and its consequences.
There are other clips from the ‘Restorative justice’ series which tell the story of the burglary from the perspectives of the offender and the police.
Students could be given a list of emotions or smilies and asked to tick or highlight the emotions they feel the lady experienced throughout this ordeal. A role-play or extended writing follow-on activity could be developed to allow students to talk through the things she may have felt. Students could then complete a similar activity for the offender after hearing about the restorative justice session.
