This clip could be used to bring a Welsh perspective to poetry writing during World War One. Having read the poem, students could explain what Hedd Wyn’s poem, along with the works of authors such as Siegfried Sassoon tell us about conditions on the Western Front. To improve understanding and knowledge students could watch the film 'Hedd Wyn' which was nominated for an Oscar in 1992.
