From the top of Jingshan in the Forbidden City, the centre of Beijing, you can see the whole city. On the way to the Summer Palace there are more sights to be seen, and the palace itself gives an insight into how the Emperors used to live.

Could be used to introduce some famous places of interest in Beijing. The teacher could introduce the place before playing the clip then ask the pupils to pick up those names in the clip. The teacher could introduce direction words like ‘East', 'South', 'North' and 'West’ and ‘left', 'right' and 'ahead’. Pupils could build a map according to the information provided in the clip then the teacher could change the location on the map and guide students to find the direction by using ‘how do you get to….?’
