A report showing a variety of animals around the world and some of their habits. The report includes clips of worms, elephants, squirrels, beavers, reindeer and bears. The report also considers how crops and trees grow, using water and shedding their leaves in autumn.
After watching the clip, ask pupils to recall all the different animals they saw or heard about. Can the children also remember all the different kinds of food they saw or heard about? Ask: "How do the animals' bodies help them to live in all these different places?" Let children share their ideas with the class and encourage them to notice examples of how the animals are adapted to their environments, for example with thick fur to keep them warm, or sharp teeth for chewing through branches. Replay the clip, this time without the sound. Give individual children the chance to provide their own commentaries.
