At the Seabird Centre in North Berwick, presenter Grant learns about the different types of seabird found in Scotland and looks at their nest-making techniques. Migration patterns mean the birds found in coastal areas can change significantly depending on the time of year.

This clip could be used to consider different habitats and research the animals that live there. Ask the children to watch the clip and make notes about each different variety of seabird. Draw the class back together and collate the notes. Then set the class the challenge of designing a classification key that can be used to sort and identify the birds featured in the clip.
