Life in Kagyu Samye Ling Buddhist monastery in the hills of Scotland, where an important part of each day is prayer and meditation. When Buddhists pray they pray to the Buddha or other enlightened beings. They pray in the temple as a group as well as by themselves in solitude. The prayer flags around the monastery are inscribed with prayers and mantras - when the wind blows the prayers are carried through all parts of the universe. Buddhists meditate to calm the mind and relax into a natural state.

Questions to ask the class: "What do you think Buddhism is? What do you think to the Buddhist way of life?" Conduct a relaxation or meditation activity with the pupils, so that they can feel what it is like to relax into a natural state.
