Dan Snow goes to an indoor rife range to find out about different rifles used during WW1. He tests a German Mauser Gewehr 98 and a British Lee Enfield rifle. A marksman tests the two rifles against each other to find which one was more practical.
This clip should be used with caution as part of an exploration into the overall weaponry available to both sides in WW1. It may also be useful to prompt debate on the impact such weapons had on the inexperienced soldiers they were issued to.
