A Jewish family visits the synagogue on Saturday morning to observe Shabbat. A Jewish girl compares worshipping at home to worshipping at the synagogue. During the service, the Torah is taken out from the Ark, behind the curtains, and a Rabbi reads from it in Hebrew before the scrolls are carefully put away again.

Students could discuss where, when and how Jews, Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists and Christians worship. On pieces of paper, write down individual statements for each faith such as: they worship in a synagogue, they remove their shoes when they arrive, their holy book is called the Bible. The students must then sort the statements into the correct faith. Alternatively, students could be divided into groups, each selecting a different faith. They could go on to create posters which depict worship for that faith, then bring them all together at the end to create a larger wall display.
