Choose a scene from a play that could require a lot of props, set changes, characters on stage or lighting and sound cues. Ask students to have a go at creating their own prompt book and how they would organise it. Students could work on a scene, either scripted or improvised. One member of their team should be in the role of stage manager, keeping a record of the decisions they make and the changes needed in performance.
