Sikhism is about 500 years old and originated in India. The word 'Sikh' means 'disciple'. The Guru Granth Sahib is the Sikh holy book and is kept under a special canopy. Offerings are given by everyone who comes to pray. Men and women sit on different sides of the prayer hall, but everyone sits on the floor to show equality.
