The clip introduces the Bible as a book, opening with a group of children's facts and ideas about the Bible and its meaning to people. The Bible is divided into Old and New Testaments and is made up of many smaller books. It has been translated into many languages and produced in a variety of shapes and sizes. We are taken to the British Bible Society where we see a modern Bible being designed and published.

This clip could be used as introduction to an exploration of the Bible. Before viewing, ask pupils what they know about the Bible. Gather their ideas. Ask them to note down any facts that stand out. After viewing, what did they learn? Was there anything that surprised them? What questions would they still like answered? Can they name any sacred books from other religions? This could then lead on to more detailed exploration of the Bible.
