How to help your child be independent

Helping your child to become independent will help them to relax and settle in when they start primary school. Early Years Specialist Claire Russell has three tips to help you begin the process.


• Encourage your child to complete simple tasks around the house like tidying their toys away.

• Making a name sign for your child's bedroom door will help them to recognise their name.
