How to grow your body confidence, with Jada Sezer

Jada Sezer is a plus-size model who’s passionate about her ability to bring body positivity to the world.

She’s a UN Ambassador for women with a Masters degree in Child Psychology, as well as being a body positivity and mental health advocate. Jada uses her global exposure to speak out for millions of women and girls around the world.

Jada discovered fitness as another way to celebrate and strengthen her shape, and regularly posts her gym workouts to her army of devoted Instagram followers. She inspires them to care for their hearts and minds as much as their bodies, and challenges the idea that a healthy lifestyle only looks one way.

If you don’t see it, how do you know you can be it?

Jada’s gems of wisdom for developing your confidence and self-esteem:

  • It is possible to be healthy at different weights, shapes and sizes.

  • Being body positive doesn’t mean feeling 100% confident all the time. You can have good and bad days, but confidence is knowing that you are ok, and you will feel better about yourself.

  • Self-esteem is knowing what makes you – you! It’s about more than just your physical body. What job do you do? What do you do for your community? How are you with your friends and family? You are more than the sum of your parts.

  • Having a better sense of yourself helps you to be confident in new situations or spaces that might make you feel nervous at first.

  • Be kind to yourself. Try training that inner voice to speak to you as you would do a younger person. Be compassionate to yourself.

  • Find your role models - they are out there! You will feel less insecure if you seek out people who make you feel good about yourself, in your feeds and your friendship groups.
