How to talk to your child about differences in the world around them

Rich and Lew have two adopted children. Their situation might be quite different to many of their classmates and it is important that children are able to talk about this diversity in a healthy way. Here are their tips for helping your child to understand difference.

  • Get out and about and talk about the different types of people you see together. They can also talk to children their own age.
  • Read books to them about people from different backgrounds.
