The British Independent Film Awards 2015

At a glittering ceremony hosted by Richard Ayoade, Kate Winslet & Chiwetel Ejiofor were among those honored by the British Independent Film Awards. Big winners on the night were the team behind EX MACHINA, with the film winning Best British Independent Film, Best Director and Best Screenplay for Alex Garland, and Outstanding Achievement in Craft for Visual Effects. Best Actor went to Tom Hardy for LEGEND, Best Actress went to Saoirse Ronan for BBC Films' own BROOKLYN. Brendan Gleeson won for Best Supporting Actor for SUFFRAGETTE, and Best Supporting Actress went to Olivia Colman for THE LOBSTER. There were laughs as Domhnall Gleeson, nominated for BROOKLYN in the same category as his father, was sent to collect the award on his father's behalf - and then had to go to the podium again when Tom Hardy asked him to collect his award for Best Actor.
