Booktrust

Booktrust is the national charity bringing books and people together. Take a look at their website for ideas and advice on creative reading all through your life.

Last summer, as part of The Big Read, Booktrust set up 10 groups of readers around the country to explore some of the top 100 books. Their activities included writing their own poetry, making a menu of South Indian literature and dressing up in a stately home. To find out more go to the Bookscapes website.

The National Literacy Trust

The Big Read has inspired a wealth of debate and activity among students of all ages resulting in a substantial vote for children's titles in particular. Take a look at the site to see how the National Literacy Trust and the National Reading Campaign are working with schools and colleges to promote The Big Read.

Reading Champions are men and boys who have inspired others with their enthusiasm for reading and who have encouraged reluctant readers.

The Reading Agency

Thousands of libraries throughout the UK are working with the Big Read. Library activity is being co-ordinated by The Reading Agency, a charity which aims to support and change the way libraries work with readers.

The Reading Agency is funded by the Arts Council of England, Southern and South East Arts and the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals.
