Woman's Hour - Aileen Graham-Allen

In this extract from a longer programme, Aileen Graham-Allen describes her experiences as the chauffeur to Emmeline Pankhurst (pictured) during her time as leader of the suffragette movement. Ms Graham-Allen's reminiscence is read from a pre-prepared script (listen out for the sound of the turning of pages) and includes details of Mrs Pankhurst's tour of England, Wales and Scotland, in particular their crossing of the Kirkland Pass in the Lake District.
