Everton and Liverpool to share a stadium? 2003

Everybody thinks it's a good idea for somebody else's club, but not for theirs... if it was going to work anywhere in this country, then Liverpool would be probably the only place

Everton FC's plans for a new 52,000-seater stadium at the Bramley-Moore Dock site have been unanimously approved by city councillors.

Things have certainly come a long way since 2003, when - with Everton's plans for a state-of-the-art new stadium at King's Dock in tatters, and Liverpool in the process of planning their own new ground near Anfield - the North West Development Agency proposed a ground share between the two football giants.
