BBC Young Reporter: STEM Careers Event

A fun-packed STEM careers event at the BBC for Year Eight and Nine students across Bristol.

Where and when is it?

Bristol, BBC, Whiteladies Road, BS8 2LR.

Wednesday, 28 November, 11:00 - 16:00.

Description

Meet the BBC staff who design, create and manage apps, websites, mobile technology and BBC iPlayer. Also, meet the staff who use mathematics to identify changing viewing trends.

Find out how engineering plays a vital role in what we see on our screens or how an interest in science could lead to making programmes like Blue Planet 2 and Planet Earth II.

This is a fantastic opportunity for students and teachers to gain valuable career insights, learn new skills and complete STEM-based challenges and activities whilst exploring exciting future technology.

Who is it for?

The purpose of this event is to inspire students in Year Eight or Nine to consider STEM subjects and careers for their GCSE options. Schools in the area have already been approached to participate in this event, but if you are interested in finding out more about BBC Young Reporter please send us an email.

BBC Young Reporter was formally known as BBC School Report.
