NME awards winners

Neither Babyshambles nor The Libertines win Best Live
17 Feb 05 - Franz Ferdinand have added another two trophies to their cabinet, after winning a couple of NME Awards.

They've taken the Best Track accolade for Take Me Out and Best Album for their debut Franz Ferdinand.

It's a star studded ceremony this year, with the likes of Oasis, New Order and Juliette Lewis all making an appearance.

The expected showdown between Pete Doherty past and present didn't materialise, as neither his current act Babyshambles, nor his former band The Libertines picked up Best Live Act. That honour went to Muse.

where is the god-like genius award?

its good, Green day and the streets should have picked up some more awards from all the work that they have produced! i love Green Day!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Im a very happy bunny at these results but i think that Razorlight should have won more

NME represents not too much when they claim that Oasis DVD is better then The White Stripes DVD. Also Shaun Of The Dead has nothing on Lost In Translation or Eternal Sunshine. Ironic really when you think about it - a tabloid basically runing the music buisness. They claim to have discovered all good music first, but The white Stipes were only mentioned in their patronising paper after they had recorded three albums - shows how much they are on the pulse!
