About the contributor

My father was in the Royal Engineers 364 Works Section.

He served firstly @ Salerno/Avellino in April of 1944, from there his unit did the following :-

> Naples/Salerno area specifically the town of Avellino -MARCH /AUG1944
>
> Aquapedente/Siena area AUG to MARCH 1945
>
> Florence/ Mestre (Venice) MARCH- DEC 1945.

If anyone was in the same unit (i have lots of info from the units War Diary) i would appreciate hearing from you.

My aim is to compile a detailed history for my family of Dad's war time exploits, not for the glory but so they know what that generation went through.
I can remember so little !! Dad was a quiet proud man who talked only a very little of that period of his life, (like so many from that time ).
