I was born in February 1944. I believe my father was at the landings of Salerno in Italy and died there on 9th September 1943. He was in the 2nd Battalion The Hampshire Regiment.

I would like know if anyone knew him or can tell me anything about him. His name was Jack (John) Kirby.

I know he was in Cambridgeshire prior to going to Italy.

That's about the limit of my knowledge of him.
