I lived in Plumstead London ,and we were within less than 2 miles of the Royal Arsenel making armaments, the Optical Facotory making bomb and gun sights, the main barracks of the the cavalry, the AJS factory making motor bikes for the army ,so we were bombed night after night. Over a hundred bombs landed in our street and everyone in the street above us were killed. Later a V1 landed on the C and A store killing around 600 women , queing for pots and pans
