War Memorial on the summit of Great Gable, The Lake District

Each and every year the Fell and Rock Climbing Club organise a service of remembrance on the summit of Great Gable, Cumbria at the war memorial. Walkers and climbers from all over the UK make their way to the 899m high summit for 11am to lay wreaths, listen to a short sermon by the FRCC and hold a 2 minute silence.

Despite the long and tiring hike up the mountain, the nice, dry weather brought out over 1000 people for the service on Sunday 13th November 2005.
