Amnesty International and iceandfire theatre have partnered together to launch Protect the Human, a national playwriting competition encouraging writers to make real and relevant the impact of human rights issues on our everyday lives. To do this they are looking for insightful and engaging plays that imaginatively interpret this aim.
All submissions will be judged by a panel of theatre professionals including Olivier award winner Chiwetel Ejiofor.
The three shortlisted plays will receive rehearsed readings at the Soho Theatre in December 2008 with the winning play announced on the 10 December, receiving a prize of £3,000.
Deadline: 1 August 2008
