The Hidden City

The Hidden City Festival from 29 September - 5 October 2008 is a city-wide festival of site-based performances, exhibitions, and events in Plymouth.

Using the city of Plymouth as inspiration and aiming to arouse curiosity and surprise expectations, the festival will take place in unusual sites and buildings of historic and architectural interest that are unused, unnoticed, or simply hidden away.

The festival will run lunchtime script readings as part of their Festival Showcasing strand.

Writers in Plymouth and Devon are encouraged to submit plays that haven't had a public performance or reading, that are up to 50 minutes long and are readable for up to three actors (or to double to five characters).

They are looking for four plays to be read over the lunchtime during the festival week, in cafés within some of the city's oldest buildings.

Selected writers will be supported dramaturgically by Sarah Dickenson of South West New Writing Network

If you are interested in submitting a play that falls into the parameters laid out above please email it to ruth@partexchangeco.org.uk, or send a hard copy to
