Wednesday 9th October
The writers have promised to enter the boardroom (sc. 10) tonight. We've been putting it off because we all know the place is full of nettles! We spend a lot of time discussing ways in which this scene can be improved. We all like the first few lines of the second draft, but we need to deal with the elimination issue for Davies, the suspense has to be upped, Katya's dialogue improved, and it has to be cut back to six pages.

After discussing a version in which Davies' audience depart one by one until only Gloria and her bag of marshmallows is left. Tim bravely agreed to grasp some nettles and write it. Chrissie and Angela are also down for some nettle grasping - they will attempt a rewrite of the existing version. These two scenes both have to be written immediately as they have to be circulated to the team and digested in time for discussion at the Saturday afternoon chat session. ----Chrissie
