Human Rights Day 2008

Wednesday 10 December 2008 marks the 60th anniversary of the signing of the universal declaration of human rights. Overseen by the United Nations, this was the first international document recognizing human rights as the foundation of peace, justice and freedom in the world.



The BBC World Service Trust works on several projects covering human rights issues, and today we feature our work in Africa and Asia promoting justice and reconciliation, and women's rights: Communicating Justice and Afghan Woman's Hour.
