The slogan for World Health Day 2005 on April 7th is "Make every mother and child count." It reflects the reality that the health of women and children is not a high enough priority for many governments and the international community.

The objective of World Health Day is to raise global awareness of a specific health theme to highlight a priority area of concern for the World Health Organisation.

This year’s World Health Day centres on healthy mothers and children.
