The Dominican Republic's main export

Baseball is more American than apple pie - its the national game.

But almost half of all professional baseball players in the United States come from overseas - and 40 per cent of them from the small Caribbean state of the Dominican Republic.

At the very highest level of professional baseball in the United States - MLB - ten per cent of players come from the Dominican Republic.
