Didier Drogba is a role model for young African footballers |
Football fans around the world are watching the finals of the African Cup of Nations which is taking place in Ghana. But many of the continent's top soccer players spend most of their time playing for European clubs. Millions of young African boys dream of following such stars as Didier Drogba and Emmanuel Eboue to Europe to make their fortune. A handful succeed but hundreds who make the journey fall into the hands of unscrupulous clubs and agents who exploit them and dump them on the streets when they fail. Henry Bonsu investigates the growth in what has been described as football slavery.
