Rezwan Islam, a 36-year-old born during the war of liberation in Chittagong in Bangladesh, spent a decade working in his country's capital Dhaka before moving to Berlin in Germany.

He established the blog The Third World View, in which he looks at issues affecting the world - such as natural disasters or climate change - and considers how his country might deal with them.

"I try to portray Bangladesh and Bangladeshis beyond the typical headlines you see in the news," he says.

A speaker of five languages, he has travelled extensively and heads the Bangla translation page of the popular Global Voices Online website.
