Inside Putin's Russia

In this four-part series, the BBC's former Moscow correspondent, Bridget Kendall travels thousands of kilometres to talk to people about their life in Russia today under President Putin.

Has this vast country really shaken off its Communist past? Does state control, rampant corruption and dire economic need mean that many people still feel trapped by a fate they can neither escape nor influence?

Each location has been chosen with the intention of shedding light on a different aspect of life in Russia today.
