![]() Actress Rokhaya Niang in Le Prix du Pardon Actress Rokhaya Niang Appearing in two shortlisted films, Rokhaya Niang will have more exposure than most people at this year's FESPACO. Her first ever lead role was in Mansour Sora Wade’s Le Prix du Pardon. She also plays Senegalese street vendor Mati in Moussa Sène Absa’s Madame Brouette. Mansour Sora Wade asked her to star in Prix du Pardon. With no experience and having never studied acting, Rokhaya found it tough going in the first few weeks, but she has many happy memories of the experience. Her dream is to have a career in international film, and she is critical of the lack of cinemas in her native Senegal. She says most of them have been turned into shopping centres and she has appealed to the Senegalese government to re-open them. |
