The Caribbean island of Barbados is seen as a paradise.

Most of the countries politicians are black, but some Barbadians say the economy is still controlled by a minority of white families some of whom arrived during the slave trade.

Society too remains stratified along colour lines.

As part of our slavery season, Emma Joseph travels to Barbados for Assignment to find out if there is still an economic legacy of slavery.
