Ivelina, fatally injured 20 December 2003 "I met Ivelina over the internet when she was 22. I admired her sense of humour, and speaking to her over the net gave me great comfort. We were planning to meet each other during Christmas like good friends – and I was beginning to realise she meant more to me than that.
But all my plans changed when, for a short period, I was ill and had to stay in hospital. When she replied it was full of good feelings and words. "Hello my friend! I’m sorry you are at hospital. I believe very soon you will go out. Otherwise I’m Ok :) I want say so it will be all right :) Very soon you will be again at home. Your life will be perfect! And when you will have to come out from that hospital, you will need to have a good rest. I think about you… I wish all THE BEST !!!!" All tests resulted in good news for me, but I cannot forget those moments when I thought that my life was going. I postponed the trip I wanted to take so much – instead I decided to spend the Christmas near my dear parents. When I told Ivelina she replied: "Hi!!! I like this good news :) I believe God helped you… I have to see you very soon, but when... I hope one day to see you I speak English very well without a dictionary :) or translator. In Bulgaria I’ll receive you with opened arms. Bye!!! Ivelina" A while later I received the following message: "Hi It's not Ivelina. It's sister of Ivelina. We have some big problem with my sister. She is in the hospital. She was in the car accident. We well write you more bud now we don’t have more information for you. Write me to my e-mail."
I couldn’t believe the next email that her sister sent me: "hi my sister Ivelina already is not live from 20 December in 4.45h in the hospital, because heart and pulse was not work. I and my family very sorry for my sister, I sorry for my bad English. Arrivederci Fabio." How strange this life is. Walking alone along the market’s ways, how many people I saw worry for all their little things… “what I will cook…, which dress I will choose…” Maybe also the man who drove that car was thinking of these things when he didn’t stop to the red traffic-light. Now Ivelina is an angel. I believe one day I will meet her, and till that moment I will hold alive her memory in my mind." Fabio Lo Porto, Ivelina's friend. |
