The impact of NAFTA

Panelist Eduardo Perez Motta, Mexican Ambassador to the WTO, suggests looking at NAFTA's impact on trade flows.
"In the beginning of the 80s, we had trade flows of US $35,000 million. In 2002, we had US$380,000 million," he said.

This means that thanks to NAFTA, "Mexico exports more than the rest of Latin America combined. In terms of investment, it is able to attract foreign investment."
