- This category is designed to honour radio stations which have carried out or supported a social campaign or initiative that has had a positive affect on the lives of the listening community that the station serves
- The campaign must have been covered on a programme or series of programmes broadcast on or after 1 January, 2006
- The campaign could be part of a wider initiative, but the radio station must demonstrate how they have produced original material around the issue, making the campaign their own, maximising local resources to their best advantage
Information Needed for Entry
- A sample of the programming must be submitted
- This can be one clip or a number of extracts if the entry is based on a series
- These must not exceed a total of 30 minutes and no editing is permitted within each extract
- In addition to a completed entry form, the radio station must in no more than 250 words: summarise the social campaign or initiative; explain why their coverage was of particular significance; highlight any difficulties which needed to be overcome to produce their programme(s)
- If available, press clippings of media coverage of the initiative may also be submitted

The winning radio station receives $5,000 of equipment of their choice, plus a trophy
