- This category celebrates the ambition and potential of young broadcasters who have just started to make their way in radio.
- They must explain why they decided to work in radio, what first attracted them to it and what they hope to achieve in their career.
- The programme or series they were involved in must have be broadcast on or after 1 January, 2006 and they must clearly define what role they played in producing it.
- They must provide some form of proof that they are 20 years old or under on 31 December, 2006 e.g. copy of birth certificate
Information Needed for Entry
- A sample of the programming that demonstrates their most impressive work so far
- This can be one clip or a number of extracts if a series was created
- These must not exceed a total of 30 minutes and no editing is permitted within each extract
- In addition to a completed entry form, the journalist must in no more than 250 words: summarise their career so far; explain why they want a career in radio; and highlight any obstacles they have faced in starting their career
Prize
The winning journalist receives $500 worth of equipment to help with their journalism career, plus a trophy
