- This category is for outstanding sports coverage which has provided listeners with a compelling and original experience
- The coverage can be of any sporting occasion that has taken place on or after 1 January, 2006
- The coverage can be of an event, at local or national level, or from a sports discussion programme, but the entry must demonstrate a lively and entertaining nature
Information Needed for Entry
- A sample of the programming must be submitted
- This can be one clip or a number of extracts if the entry is based on a series
- These must not exceed a total of 30 minutes and no editing is permitted within each extract
- In addition to a completed entry form, the journalist must in no more than 250 words; summarise their approach to sport; explain why their coverage was of particular significance; and highlight any difficulties needing to be overcome to produce their programme(s)
Prize
The winning journalist receives one week all expenses paid trip to London, including time spent with the BBC's African News & Current Affairs department.
