Helen Simpson is a renowned writer. She has written three collections of short stories, which focus on different aspects of women's lives and has won several awards. Her most recent collection, Hey, Yeah, Right, Get A Life, looks at the challenges of living an individual and family life. Romesh Gunesekera's novel Reef was shortlisted for the Booker Prize in 1994. He was born and grew up in Sri Lanka and the Philippines and moved to England in 1971. He has also published a collection of short stories, Monkfish Moon, and two further novels.
