At the edge of the Thar Desert in Rajasthan, people face the prospect of droughts every year, and anxiously await the monsoons.

Water is precious and there is a huge national debate about who owns the water.

But in the poorest and driest communities of the Thar, a small revolution is underway to empower local villages and to revive the ancient Indian traditions of harvesting rainwater to keep the desert at bay.
