What Gordon Brown Really Thinks

The BBC World Service presents a window into the soul of Gordon Brown, widely expected to be the next British Prime Minister.

Currently finance minister in the government, Brown is known as a powerful but very private politician, renowned for his slogan "prudence with a purpose."

But outside of financial issues, he has said little about his views on policy either at home or abroad.

With the help of leading colleagues and close personal friends of the chancellor, the BBC's political editor Nick Robinson has been piecing together what Gordon Brown really thinks.
