Phase
3 radio programmes will broadcast between June
and November 2000 in Arabic, Hausa, Swahili, English,
French, and Portuguese for Africa, Portuguese
for Brazil, Spanish for the Americas, Mandarin,
Indonesian and Vietnamese. A team of UK-based
BBC World Service radio producers will produce
series in their native languages. Their radio
programmes have been planned to meet the needs
and raise relevant issues facing BBC regional
audiences.
Each
radio series will be finely crafted, lively and
provocative, featuring ordinary people describing
their personal aspirations, experiences and concerns
which may well be difficult and/or sensitive.
The programmes will also include contributors
with professional expertise. By providing accurate
information, listeners will better placed to make
choices about their sexual health and reproductive
rights.
