Professor Ashish Bose is an Honorary Professor
at the Institute of Ecnonomic Growth at Delhi University.
He is an expert on Indian and Asian population studies
and has acted as a consultant to the United Nations at
several international conferences on population and demographics.
Professor Bose has written and co-edited twenty five books,
papers and government reports, and is a leading commentator
on the effects of urban growth and rural and industrial
development. |

| Kumi
Naidoo is the Secretary General and CEO of CIVICUS:
World Alliance for Citizen Participation, an international
alliance of organisations and individuals, dedicated to
strengthening citizen action and civil society. A Rhodes
Scholar, he was expelled from school at the age of 15
for protesting against South Africa's apartheid educational
system. He is a committed promoter of social justice,
educational, sporting and development initiatives and
was an organiser of the National Men's March Against Violence
on Women and Children. |

Lord Robert Winston is Professor of Fertility Studies
at the Imperial College School of Medicine in London.
He has researched into various aspects of human reproduction,
and founded the first NHS In Vitro Fertisation (IVF) Programme.
He is currently developing techniques to make IVF treatment
more affordable and accessible. Created a Life Peer in
1995, he comments on a wide range of medical, ethical
and scientific issues in Parliament, scientific journals
and the media. |

Marilyn Waring is an Associate Professor in Social
Policy and Social Work at Massey University, and at 23
became the youngest member of the New Zealand Parliament.
On leaving politics she returned to lecturing, where her
research has focused on social welfare, human rights and
on economic factors that influence legislation and aid.
An author, documentary maker and farmer, she has been
a development assistance consultant and project leader
in more than a dozen countries. |
