| Ray
Harris is an education specialist who is experienced
in developing training programmes for educators,
governments and Non-Governmental Organisations.
Originally a teacher in the UK, he moved to Nicaragua
to run workshops on environmental education and
development. Since then he has worked in Africa,
Asia and Europe developing teaching activities and
youth programmes. A consultant and adviser to many
leading institutions, including the World Bank and
UNICEF, he is currently developing interactive training
activities for science education. |

Richard Slaughter is an independent futurist with
an international reputation for educational innovation,
Richard Slaughter is the Director of the Futures Study
Centre in Melbourne. As a teenager he read science fiction,
and realised that although many futures were possible,
most in fiction were pretty bleak. He wants to develop
a society and culture that is not driven by the past,
but has planned for the near future. |

Sohail Inayutullah is a political scientist and
Visiting Academic at Queensland University of Technology,
Australia. He is a Fellow of the World Futures Studies
Federation and co-editor of the Journal of Futures. During
his career, he has writen 200 book chapters, journal and
magazine articles, on subjects which range from cyberlobbying
to dissent in universities. He says, the greatest influence
on his views of the future comes 'from the day-to-day;
from nappie changes to playing with my children. These
moments become the future." |

Kato Hidetoshi has a distinguished academic career
in communications research. Currently he is the Director-General
of the Chubu Institute for Advanced Studies in Tokyo,
which promotes technology transfer and a more collaborative
approach to learning between educational institutions
in the Asia Pacific. In the past, he has been a professor
at the University of the Air (an Open University offering
supported learning), and Director-General of the National
Institute of Multimedia. |

Prince Hassan of Jordan is active in a number of
political, social and economic initiatives. A strong believer
that "education is the key to human development", he established
the Al al-Bait University in Mafraq. In 1981, he proposed
the establishment of the New International Humanitarian
Order to the United Nations, which called for creative
humanitarian action at the international, regional and
national levels to alleviate human suffering . The final
report was adopted as a resolution by the 42nd General
Assembly. |
