FM/AM radio

Some local stations rebroadcast BBC World Service programmes. You'll find a list through the 'World Service on AM & FM' Asia-Pacific link on this page. Check local listings for BBC times, or contact the stations direct.

In Hong Kong, BBC World Service in English can be heard 24 hours a day on 675 AM (RTHK Channel 6), and in Ulaan Baatar, Mongolia, 24 hours a day on 103.1 FM.

Satellite

WorldSpace
In the Philippines and the southernmost tip of China, about as far north as Hong Kong, BBC World Service (English with other languages) can be heard on the South Beam of the digital WorldSpace AsiaStar satellite.
Visit the WorldSpace website for information about the special receivers and subscription necessary for reception.

Cable

Japan
In Japan, reception is not always ideal, particularly in cities, where the density of construction can affect signals. The best way to listen if you will be there for some time is on Usen 440 cable radio, which offers BBC World Service 24 hours a day. The basic Usen 440 service is available by subscription and there is no further charge for the BBC. For details, email info@usen.ne.jp

Indonesia - via Indovision.
