How Powerful is TV?

Emma Joseph - Presenter
There are more than one billion of them around the world, over half the world's population spends three hours a day with one and it's even been described as another member of the family - television: just how powerful is it?

TV has been blamed for many things, from an increase in violence to cultural imperialism. It's also been hailed as one of the most positive developments of the last century.

To explore the latest thinking on our relationship with that box in the corner, join Emma Joseph and studio guests, Ramaswami Harindranath of the University of Melbourne and television producer, Stephen Leahy of Ludus Entertainment for the very first programme of a brand-new show - the Big Question.
