The Music Feature

Updated weekly at 09:32 GMT on Monday

This week’s Music Feature is dedicated to a new style of hip hop on the verge of breaking through in Australia in Hip Hop Down Under. Hip Hop is now the most popular form of music among young Aboriginal people. They connect with the African American rappers they see on TV, not only for the stories they tell, but on a much more basic level – they share the same skin colour. And now these kids are using hip hop to tell their own stories.

Australian music journalist Sashka travels from the urban housing projects of Sydney to the outback in search of the new sound of Australia - Aboriginal hip hop. Don’t miss Hip Hop Down Under, this week’s Music Feature.
