Biography

Juliet Stevenson is one of Britain's premier actresses - star of stage, screen and radio. Probably best known for her role in the film Truly, Madly, Deeply directed by the late Oscar winning writer and director Anthony Minghella, she has worked with him many times and is one of the leads in his award-winning radio play, Cigarettes & Chocolate, which launches the BBC World Service 2009 International Radio Playwriting Competition.

Other films include Bend it Like Beckham; Mona Lisa Smile and Drowning by Numbers. TV series include The Politician's Wife, Emma and Life Story. On stage she has played many momentous roles, including the title in Hedda Gabler and Yerma, Amanda in Private Lives and Paulina in Death & the Maiden.

Juliet's many plays for radio include To The Lighthouse, Cigarettes & Chocolate and most recently The Tiger's Tail, a Burmese anthology for BBC World Drama.
